The TPZ extension files are files that are normally used as an electronic book used by Amazon Kindle devices and Amazon Kindle desktop software.

The TPZ archive contains an electronic book that has been saved from the Internet to the computer, and which admits advanced embedded fonts, as well as auxiliary information such as bookmarks and annotations, which are stored in separate metadata files.

The TPZ files are kept in a proprietary format but can be opened with other software packages, such as Calibre.

However, with DRM protection, they cannot be opened by any other software other than Kindle.
