Open SPO File
SPO files present, up to now, two applications of a different nature, namely:
Spore
In this section, the SPO file saves the game created by Spore, a game in which players make their creatures evolve through multiple stages of life.
The SPO file, for this application, stores the state of the game including the progress of the creature's evolution within the surrounding civilization.
SPSS Statistical
In this application, the SPO format and extension file is an output file created by the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS).
SPSS is a statistical-computer management program, commonly used in the social sciences, in addition to its usefulness within market research companies.
The SPO file is generated by the program that analyzes statistics and other data, as an output file.
SPO files are supported and exported by SPSS 15 and earlier, which means that as of SPSS 16 and later, the files are exported in a different format, that is, with the SPV extension.
The above assumes that SPO files are not compatible with SPSS 16 or 17, but can be viewed with SPSS SmartViewer 15, which is also sometimes called "SPSS Legacy Viewer".
