Open SDR File

SDR files have two different applications, namely the following:

Dell Support File

The SDR file, in this application, is a file called dell.sdr and located on Dell computers in the C:\ directory.

The SDR file contains system information and is used for Dell technical support purposes.

The SDR file should not be edited or deleted manually or any request for assistance from Dell may not work properly.

The presence of the SDR file means that the computer is using a version of Windows installed by Dell, therefore when formatting and installing a new operating system, either Windows or Linux, this file will be lost.

SmartDraw Drawing

For SmartDraw, an SDR file is nothing more than a drawing created with that program.

SmartDraw is a program used to create professional diagrams.

The SDR file stores one of 70 different types of drawings, such as a flow chart, project plan, calendar, flow chart, mind map, or floor plan.

Such an SDR file is used in business environments to create professional-quality visuals.

For additional information, the SmartDraw software can import Microsoft Visio drawings, or VSD files, and can export SDR files directly to open Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project files.
