Open RCS File

An RSC extension file is a type of compiled resource file used by Symbian OS applications.

Symbian, was an operating system for mobile devices, whose maximum exponent has always been Nokia, the Finnish company considered the largest manufacturer in the world in terms of mobile telephony, at the time.

Symbian OS is an open source system designed for touch screen devices, mobile devices, and smartphones.

The RSC file contains resources compiled from RSS files in binary format.

RSC files comprise a finished Symbian application together with an APP file.

Similar to a javascript, in terms of functionality, but with the caveat that, in this case, it is a compiled file.

They allow application developers to change program resources without having to recompile the APP file.

This can be useful when localizing the application to different languages.
