Open PCX File
The PCX extension file is a raster image format developed by ZSoft.
ZSoft Corporation from Marietta, Georgia, United States is a defunct application that had functionality similar to PaintBrush, native to DOS.
The PCX file became one of the most popular original bitmap image formats for the DOS / Windows platform.
The PCX supports 24-bit color images, 8-bit color grayscale and indexed images, and 1-bit black and white images.
The PCX format was compressed using RLE encoding and has been largely replaced by newer image formats, but is still used by some fax and scan applications.
Multi-page PCX fax documents use the DCX extension.
