Open LOG File

A file of LOG format and extension is a log storage file used by various operating systems and programs, both desktop, mobile and web applications.

Typically a LOG file contains a plain text record of certain events with their timestamps.

LOG log files can be created by the program or the operating system, to keep track of system events, which can be classified by labels or numbers.

A software installation program can also use of a LOG log file, to list the location and names of installed files.

Web servers also generate log files to keep track of visitors, control over search engines, and to control bandwidth usage.
