Open HC File
An HC file is used to contain an encrypted virtual disk, through the VeraCrypt software. HC files can be configured for a specific volume size in either KB, MB or GB, and are password protected.
VeraCrypt software, created by the eponymous company, is a successor to TrueCrypt, which was an encryption tool for desktop operating systems. TrueCrypt, at the time it was abandoned by its developers due to security problems that, later, were fixed by another group of developers renaming it to VeraCrypt. VeraCrypt is free and open source.
The .HC extension is also known to be used as a header file by C / C ++ compilers of both the Eclipse IDE and C++ Builder, among others.
In general terms, the .HC extension has a variety of uses, ranging from storage unit encryption to high-resolution image files such as TIFF.
