Open GHS File
The file with the GHS extension is used as a segment of a disk image created with Norton Ghost that spans multiple files.
About Norton Ghost
Ghost is a disk cloning program developed by an independent developer named Murray Haszard and sold by Symantec.
The name GHOST is an acronym for 'General Hardware-Oriented System Transfer'.
GHS format in Ghost
This type of format is usually saved with other GHS file segments and a GHO format and extension file, which contains the initial segment of the disk image.
Beginning with Symantec Ghost version 6.5, segment files use the naming convention of filename, followed by a numeric 001, 002, 00N, and then the GHS extension, as follows 'name001.ghs', ' name002.ghs', 'name003.ghs', etc.
Norton Ghost was later renamed Ghost Solution Suite hosted by Broadcom.
