Add-ins may be available for a variety of purposes, such as providing access to the Google Marketplace in Outlook, fighting spam, managing advanced email snippets, or adding advanced printing tools to Outlook.
In this case, the ECF file contains information that adds additional features, such as increased security or increased productivity, to Outlook.
Sage CRM Component File
In this section, the ECF file contains component elements created by the SageCRM Customer Relationship Management software.
Sage CRM is a cloud-based Customer Relationship Management solution designed to optimize the customer experience for small and medium-sized businesses by offering tools to manage relationships with new and existing customers.
ECF files, in this application, are generated when associated ES script files are created.
ECF files can include fields, tabs, buttons, and other elements that are used within the program.
