Open DT2 File
The DT2 extension files, like the DT0 and DT1 files, are ground elevation and topographic profile files, used by GIS systems or programs, which are responsible for displaying them to the user.
DT2 files contain a grid of evenly spaced elevation points, which form a kind of rendering, and are commonly used in military systems that require information on terrain slope, elevation, and surface contour.
As mentioned earlier, DTED Level 0 DT0 and Level 1 DT1 files also capture terrain elevation data.
Consequently, Level 2 files have the highest resolution data, and Level 0 files have the lowest resolution.
This being the case, DT2 files contain a spacing of one arc second, or approximately 30 meters of resolution.
