Open DES File

DES extension files can acquire various types of formats, as described below:

PRO/DESKTOP

In this particular case, a DES file is a 2D or 3D drawing created with Pro/DESKTOP, a CAD program used primarily in the educational market.

Pro/DESKTOP was a discontinued computer-aided design program developed by Parametric Technology Corporation that allowed users to design and model in 3D and create 2D drawings.

With the ability to bring a 3D design into a 2D engineering drawing format and also create photorealistic views using Album Views.

The DES file, for Pro/Desktop, is used to contain shapes that can be viewed as transparent, shaded, or enhanced wireframes or images.

Corel Designer

Similar to the previous case, in this section, the DES file is a 3D technical illustration created with Corel Designer, a technical graphics design program.

Corel DESIGNER is a vector graphics program developed by Micrografx, and later acquired by Corel in 2001.

As of 2001 the program was sold as Corel DESIGNER 9.

For this program, the DES file contains three-dimensional objects, such as device parts that can be joined into a larger whole.

QuickBooks

In the latter format, a DES extension file is a set of forms used to enter and store financial data in QuickBooks.

QuickBooks is an accounting and financial functions software package developed and marketed by Intuit.

It was first introduced in 1983, and is primarily geared toward small and medium-sized businesses.

With on-premises accounting features and apps, as well as cloud-based versions that accept business payments, manage and pay bills, and payroll features.

The DES file, for QuickBooks, makes it easier and more efficient to enter similar data sets, and can be created using the Layout Designer feature and exported as a file from the QuickBooks program.
